YOUR HOME SLEEP TEST TO DETERMINE

THE RIGHT TREATMENT PLAN

Detecting sleep apnea has become remarkably simple, comfortable, and accurate with today’s advanced at-home sleep testing

technology. Depending on each patient’s specific needs, Dr. Warn and his team may utilize a variety of FDA-cleared home sleep testing

devices and monitoring systems, including ring-based technology and other advanced portable testing solutions. In many cases,

PranaQ technology is also utilized for appliance titration after oral appliance therapy has been initiated to help evaluate treatment

effectiveness and determine whether any adjustments are needed.

Instead of spending the night in a sleep lab or hospital, patients can complete their sleep study in the comfort of their own bed using

a lightweight, easy-to-use device designed to monitor important sleep and breathing patterns while they rest naturally.

These devices are designed to be simple, comfortable, and non-invasive. Before bedtime, patients typically pair the device with a

smartphone app or follow a few easy setup instructions, then sleep as they normally would. During the night, the technology quietly gathers valuable information such as breathing patterns, oxygen levels, heart rate variability, snoring, body position, sleep quality, and other

indicators that may suggest obstructive sleep apnea.

Once the study is complete, the data is securely reviewed by a board-certified sleep physician, similar to traditional hospital-based

sleep studies. This allows Dr. Warn and his team to better understand each patient’s sleep health and develop the most appropriate

treatment recommendations based on their individual needs.

Most patients appreciate being able to sleep naturally in their own environment, which often provides a more accurate picture of

real-world sleep patterns while making the testing process far more comfortable and convenient.

YOUR HOME SLEEP TEST TO DETERMINE THE RIGHT TREATMENT PLAN

Detecting sleep apnea has become remarkably simple, comfortable, and accurate with at-home tests like ResMed. It's a breeze compared to spending a night in a hospital! You just wear a few lightweight sensors on your finger, wrist, and chest while you sleep in the comfort of your own home. These devices quietly gather important data about your breathing and sleep patterns. Once the study is completed, a board-certified sleep physician will read the results, just like in the hospital studies. Rest assured, you'll enjoy a much better night's sleep in your own bed while getting the answers you need about your sleep health.

THERAPY

ORAL APPLIANCE THERAPY

Oral appliance therapy offers a simple yet effective solution for managing snoring and sleep apnea. It involves wearing a customized device in your mouth while you sleep, which helps keep your airway open by gently adjusting the position of your jaw and tongue. By preventing any blockages, this therapy ensures smoother breathing throughout the night. It's a comfortable approach that doesn't involve any invasive procedures, making it a popular choice for many patients seeking relief from snoring and sleep apnea.

  • Professional oral appliances are known for effectively managing mild to moderate sleep apnea, and providing relief for both snoring and sleep apnea symptoms.

  • Oral appliances are FDA-approved for treating sleep apnea, ensuring their safety and efficacy.

At Deep Sleep Remedies, we specialize in oral appliance therapy, focusing on personalized solutions to address both snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnea effectively.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES

CAN HELP

In addition to oral appliance therapy, lifestyle changes can also help improve sleep apnea. These may include:

  • Managing weight if overweight or obese

  • Steering clear of alcohol, sedatives, and sleeping pills before bedtime

  • Breaking the habit of smoking

  • Establishing a consistent sleep routine

  • Opting to sleep on your side rather than your back

Surgery Is A Last Resort Treatment Option

In numerous cases, oral appliance therapy has proven to be equally effective as more invasive surgical procedures, presenting patients with a non-invasive and economically advantageous treatment avenue.

While surgeries like:

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP)

Maxillomandibular advancement (MMA)

and Nasal Surgery are viable options for severe sleep apnea, studies have shown that oral appliance therapy offers comparable outcomes with a much more conservative approach to treatment, and at a fraction of the cost. This makes oral appliance therapy a compelling choice for patients seeking effective, conservative, and budget-friendly solutions.

However, if after a thorough examination we determine that surgery would be a better option for you, we would gladly refer you to the appropriate specialist for further care.

It's worth emphasizing once more that surgery is typically seen as a last-resort measure and is typically recommended only for severe cases of sleep apnea.
